[sdiy] tr808 memory loss

Jovius,

I started thinking that we should have had you open up the 808 first
and confirm it used the same kind of switch. Damn Roland. It's the
same era gear with the same style of controls, so you'd think they'd
be consistent in their parts use. I had to recently open up my Roland
MC-4 Microcomposer expecting to find the same kind of switches as the
CSQ, but they're different (have 4 legs). They're also worse. All
the CSQ switches work fine after all these years, but almost all of
the MC-4 switches have gone bad (another casualty of this crappy east
coast environment). I don't know if the switches in the MC-4 are the
same as the 808. The MC-4 switches say Amp on them, but I wasn't able
to find any new Amp switches that matched. Maybe somebody else knows
more about possible replacements.
