[sdiy] Blacet midi to analog clock

I'm about to start building a midi to analog clock found on the Blacet site:
http://www.blacet.com/MSdata.html

I'm wondering if I should just put a 1K resistor in line with the outputs,
or should I be doing something more? Especially when using an output to
clock 3 to 4 modules.
What would be the best way to incorporate a led? Would the NPN/resistor
divider do the trick? I don't think I'm gong to put a led for all divisions,
but I was thinking on installing some, let's say /1, /6, /64 and /256. What
would you do?

Any tips appreciated...

Cheers,
