At the risk of telling you stuff you already know - 

If you're dealing with text and lines that need to print cleanly and can't use a DXF file - I'd strongly suggest keeping your file in something PostScript based - like an EPS - right up until the output stage.

Unless you export a JPEG that is very high res - you risk having your lines and text print with aliased or pixelated edges.
