The Gimp is a good graphics tool that rivals Photoshop, but to import the DXF file format you will need to convert it to a graphics file. There are several file conversion utilities out there and you can get a shareware version at:

If you have access to or are using either AutoCad or another CAD program that supports the DXF file format and wish to convert your Gimp creations for use in the CAD software, save your woeg in Gimp in the DWG file format and use a another file conversion utility to convert the DWG to DXF.
