i would use an etched PCB and design the PCB in a way i reduced the wiring
(panel mounted pots, switches...). wiring is time consuming and a source
of errors.
you might want to take in count the time you would need to etch and drill
it by yourself. if you are building several units for others and they pay
for it ask yourself: what worth is my (spare)time? so giving the PCB to a
PCB house might be a good solution.
OTH you will have to ensure that your PCB design is correct and working.
that will take a lot of time, if you are not that familiar with the
software and the design process.
so i would decide by the time it takes. time is a recource to consider IMO
(it's so valuable)
