I used to work on organs, a *lot* of them, years ago.
Typically for a two-manual spinet (44-key) the lower manual will have two or
possibly three buses, the upper will have more. Depends on how many
different voicings it has. Lower manuals are typically 8' and 4' only,
while uppers might have 2', 1', and maybe some others in between, or even
16'...
Depends on the organ, too. The stuff I'm mostly familiar with either used
the keyboards to key the tones directly, or they used them to control some
kind of an electronic keyer circuit. Later stuff (around the time I got out
of it) was all microprocessor-based, and that's a whole 'nother setup.
