Careful.

I didn't say they drop a volt.  I said they drop a volt if there is 50mA 
of current through them.  You haven't told us what the current is, so I 
can't tell you what the drop is.  Take your multimeter and start 
measuring voltage drops on the path from the power supply to the load.
