[sdiy] need an op-amp that can clip without phase reversal

Paul, thanx for the suggestion. I had not tried an LF444, but I did try the the TL072 which supposedly does not latch up... well it did, and a whole lot.
I also tried the TLC2272. This op-amp latched up less frequently, probably because it it is a rail to rail type op amp.
I am sure some of those nice expensive Burr Brown types suggested will work wonders. For now I am sticking with the 4558 because I have none of the others on hand.
