Interesting effect for sure, but I can't say what's causing it. Its 
possibly a power supply issue. Activating the slide somehow causes the 
power supply to dip - that would account for both the thump and the 
wibble. Check the parts around the power supply. Check that 5V3 and +12V 
lines are stable when slide is enabled.

Have you mounted the pots on the board or are they wired to a separate 
panel?

They both should be the same - although the schematic is usually the one 
to go with in any case of error. Could you please let me know what parts 
are affected, I'll check it and I will get the User Guide updated.
