I can't figure this out nor can Roland's peole.  I'm using an old 
midiman serial-midi port.  I can load sounds and just did to a DX7II FD 
(though I have to figure how to get them all in there.  DX7 patches will 
only load to 33- 64 or whatever.)

But on the D50 with mem protect off every time I go bulk load while 
holding the data transfer or not after 'enter' at the question whether 
you really want to do this, it just says 'midi communication error'.

Anyone experienced this?  I recall doing a D550 years ago for Ron 
Strykert which had to have the transfer button held while it was 
xfering.  But that doesn't seem to help here or maybe something is in 
the wrong order.  I dunno. -Bob
