This isn't synth related,  but this list is the only good collection of
electronics minded people I know of....  

I'm trying to ID an IC.  ST is the manufacturer, and it's labeled
AE
P348

It's only got 2 leads, but is definitely got a polarity and it's not a
cap or resistor.

It's from a hard drive.  This one is smoking.  I replaced it w/ one from
another of the same hard drives, and it works.  So, now I need to repair
this HDD that I took the good IC from.
