[sdiy] Basic circuit safety...

And lastly - for now...

I'd really appreciate some links, schematics, ideas for some basic circuit protection.

Basically, for example, if someone was to plug an AC adapter into a DC socket - or if one of those multi-socket DC adapters went in with the tip and ring reversed, or if a 7809 suddenly found itself having to deal with 15 volts - what are some simple things I can do to at least minimise the damage that might be done to a circuit.

I will admit that I've not done any of my own research on this one - I just figured there'd be a few people on here that look at this sort of thing as being as standard part of any decent power supply.

And thanks again!

Juz
