Speaking of Buchla...

I opened up a Buchla 255 module to do a mod to it and I was very  
surprised to see the LED drive circuit he's using. It's just from the  
output opamp (LF353 in this case) through a 10k resistor to the LED  
anode and a 62k resistor to +15. The cathode of the LED to ground. I  
have been under the impression that you needed to have more to drive  
an LED than that. Is this an accepted solution or cheaping out? Also,  
if you put a bipolar LED in there would you be able to get green when  
the signal is positive and red when it's negative? Just curious really.
