The consensus on DAW-Mac is that these are fine for running an old scanner
or optical drive but not any sort of high-performance HD stuff like
multi-track. Whether it would work with this this application is another
matter.
Does the unit in question have a limit as to drive capacity? I've heard
that the SCSI implementation in some samplers is rather iffy to begin with
so the only way to know for sure is to try it.

You have a pile of them like I do. Too bad I don't have any samplers.

Like I was saying...
Someday working SCSI drives will be worth as much as a 2040 or a 726.
