[sdiy] Reproducing Oberhiem "Jump" Voice

[Dump Static]

There is a small amount of portamento used on the original sound.  It's
very noticeable, especially if you play the same patch without the
portamento...

I'd like your input on reproducing something similar to the Van Halen
"Jump"
voice. Some research yields:
It is a "brass" voice was produced using a Oberheim OB-Xa. (Sorry if
this
next part is pedantic. I'm new at this.)

Oberheim OB-Xa Specs
   8 voices
   Technology: PWM Synch
   2 OSCs (Waves: pulse saw noise)
   1 Filter: LPF Resonance 2-4 Pole
   1 LFOs: sine, square, sample+hold
   2 ENVs 2x ADSR

My goal is to implement a similar sounding voice with very few
components
(some may be digital). I don't have an analog synth to use, so I've been
using software synths. Any help would be appreciated.

Another list member suggested that it looked like a combination of a
Sawtooth Fundamental + a Pulse Wave at 5F or 10F in sync.

I don't think ENV or LFO are too big of a concern right now. The LPF/Q
might
be though. I've come up with something close using Sawtooth (F) and a
pulse
(2F) on a software emulator.

Can anyone confirm or deny? Also is there some sort of standardized
notation
for building analog voices like there is for FM voices or do analog
synths
vary too much from one to the next?
