Dave is entirely right about some actual recordings not sounding as much
like the real thing, compared to a synthesized version.
There was a Suzanne Ciani interview where she talked about making a "bacon
frying" sound. The sound that worked, was very different from what actually
happens when bacon fries.

Why this should be true for some sounds, and not others, I do not know.
