Y-ellow All.
Thanks once again. And I downloaded that software. Haven't had a
look at it yet.
Here's a question I guess better formulated. In amongst any of the lit that
comes with this thing, is there a run down of the RS232 control messages
and the MIDI messages that this thing understands?
Under linux it would be snap to write a bit of perl or even shell grit to
send out the required RS232 messages. MIDI of course would make it more
universal.
I had thought about something similar to your FET system Peter. Even the
use of an RC time constant so it ramped in/out rather than thumped. I've
messed with similar schemes using bipolars. And noted that both Korg and
Yamaha make extensive use of these kinds of schemes. Although only Korg
were so cut-price to actually use them in place of an actual VCA in a
synth. If I were in the mood for coding up a micro I'd probably do
something along those lines. Either an 8255 or just an MCS51 derivative
with lots of I/O pins. And probably use a 2N3819 since I've managed to
acquire a quantity.
What can I say though. The flesh is willing by the mind is weak.
My FTP site is. ftp://all-electric.com/incoming But while we're speaking of
FTPs, if you look in the "video" directory you'll find a copy of our
"Persecutor 3000" animation which Dr. Badger and I did last year for the
denialism blog. But it's also up on SpewTube now I believe.
A warning though. If your favorite Genius is Ted Haggard rather than
Richard Dawkins, you probably won't like this. :)
Thanks again.
Be absolutely Icebox.
