Can't give any specific recommendation but remember that
- all other things being equal, round connectors are more
difficult to solder than rectangular connectors because most
pins are surrounded by other pins,
- while soldering, it is good to have the connector mated to its
opposite sex counterpart as that helps keep the pins in place in
case the plastic melts. (Please note : the /connector/.)
The only multi-pin connector that is easier to solder than a sub-D
that I can think of is one with removable pins, like AMP/Tyco CPC
(expensive) or those old V.35 connectors :

CEEP, FCI and Tyco make sub-D shells with removable contacts.
