[sdiy] alternatives to d-sub?

hi,

I just wanted to check if anyone has recommendations for alternatives  
to d-sub connectors...  I'm looking for a 32-pin connector that offers  
a little more room for my limited soldering skills...

I'm making a cable snake with 32 banana plugs on the individual ends,  
and they should all come together at the other end.

what else is out there with 32 or more pins?

there are no 32-pin d-subs, right? the closest I found is 37.
