[sdiy] Using shielded cable with banana plugs?

ah ok, so I'd have to solder all the shields from the 32 cables
together at a ground point somewhere?
since I'll be using a 37-pin d-sub (they don't make 32 pin ones,
afaik) I suppose I could solder all the shields to a spare pin there,
and connect that to ground, although I fear this will become a mess...
