Absolutely. But ...

How much are SSM2040's going for these days? 100 Dollars? more?
Reason enough to sell them to a polysynth owner and to use a discrete 
version in a monophonic synth, IMO.

IMHO, since the advent of the fine fine MOTM-440, there is no excuse
to use SSM2040s in modules. let them rest peacefully in the synths in
whose time they were made.
