HI everybody,
I am in the process of building my first SMT project. It turns out
the soldering ain't so bad! It's nice that you don't have to keep
flipping the board over to clip the legs off of everything. However,
this is a module based on a design I already had working with through
hole parts but I can't get it to work with SMT! I replaced what I
thought were generic transistors with MMBT3904 and MMBT 3906. I'm
thinking that this may be the problem, since I have retraced the PCB
about 100 times. the original used 2N3565 and 2N4248. Is there
somewhere online I can search for closer matching SOT-23 package
transistors? What do you SMT gurus do?
Thanks,
Mark
