Hi all,
I am currently putting together a 2U MOTM module with
an analog VU Meter and 4 simple attentuators. Once I
get this rolling I may try to build and sell a few in
5U-tall MOTM format with a FPE panel. Not sure yet. I
need the attenuators as some of my recent modules
constructed omit any input pots and I need to tone
down the level-hotness sometimes. Currently I *waste*
a filter on this task, and besides it is a better way
for me to fill panel space than another multi patch
area.
The analog VU I found has 10-0-10v DC response and
markings. I have searched long and hard for a
"centering" bi-polar meter and have found one for
roughly $35.00.
Has anyone built something similar and if so do you
have feedback on details I should be aware of when
building this out? Please advise!
Thanks!

PS. I also was looking at digital meters available for
around 20-30$ US on eBay for a build out... but, most
only take 2-3 measurements per second which would be
totally cumbersome trying to measure a voltage sweep
or similar. Does anyone know of a good panel meter
with a fast sampling rate of around 20 or 30 times per
second?
