On the other side this quantized effect can be musicaly very interesting...
If the DAC have a 10/12/16 bits resolution and be driven by a classic 7bits CC
value ( 128steps ) , this suppose the CPU to compute an interpolation to get all
in between steps values according to the DAC resolution , to avoid the steppy
effect. No a simple thing to implement, i think , specialy on small PIC chips...
In this case the best is to drive the filter ( or like) with extended
resolution MIDI controlers ( MSB/LSB CC messages or 14bits PB ,etc.. ) and to
use a hi resolution DAC at least with 12 bits DAC to keep steps as small as
possible...
