It is a smart idea to keep the power supply separate. You are able to
purchase a
supply that has safety agency approvals and keep low voltages in your system.

I believe the supply you listed was a regulated DC supply with the DIN
connector.
You could get an unregulated DC supply with the DIN connector and do local
regulation. You could also get a wall transformer with a low voltage AC output
and do onboard rectification and regulation.

You may be able to get an OEM style supply that is enclosed and has
the three-terminal
input connector. It would probably have to be a switcher since you
said you do not
want to take up too much room in your case. The OEM supply is nice because it
will also have an agency stamp.
