howdy,
to whoever was thinking about making a sequencer with
4017s, they work pretty good. I recently automated a
vertical milling machine with one. For muzik though, i
would SERIOUSLY consider the 4514/74c193 combo. easily
cascaded, up, down, up/down. I have been considering a
64 or 96 step version of it except for the cost of
switches, pots, jacks, etc. You can set it up to flip
a switch at any 2 points in the sequence and it will
run back and forth between them until you turn off the
switches. Or you can add a counter that will do it
automatically. It's also 16 steps rather than 10, much
more compatiblewith muzik. Make a 64 step version and
tou can break it down to 4/16s, 2/32s, or 1/64. Very
versatile.
