At street prices, the ToneCore "modules" sell for
30 to 70 USD. They go into "docking pedals" that
are $70 (mono) and $80 (stereo). Then there's the
TonePort GX USB Recording Interface for $70
(89.99 list), which comes with GearBox "effects
design" software. To quote MF.com:

         "The included GearBox software provides
a hardware-like, easy-to-navigate interface for
dialing up the perfect tonetaken directly from
the POD and ready for your guitar, bass, and
vocals. Instantly access meticulously crafted
models of 23 classic and modern guitar/bass amps,
29 guitar/bass speaker cab models, and 30
stompbox and studio effects, as well as models of
6 studio-standard vocal preamps."

So, with a little luck, the development kit will
be cheap, like the price of a docking pedal with
a USB port. Under $100 bucks without a module.

The cost of programmable modules should be
similar to that of pre-programmed modules, I guess.

I wonder how they expect us to make panel graphics?
