Another thing that worked out quite well using the Match EQ was  
recreating the string-ish sound in the intro of a piece recorded by  
our own Carsten Toensmann:

All I had to do was re-play that chord progression with a raw  
sawtooth, feed that into the Match EQ along with the beginning of the  
above recording and add a bit of chorus and reverb. I got pretty close.
Actually this was my first attempt with the Match EQ. I liked the  
sound so much that I wanted to recreate it. Carsten used the Resonant  
Filter Module of the Elektor Formant synthesizer.
