Well that's the good thing about DIY - every one can build the interface and 
front panel just like he or she wants.
Tiny Telephone jacks anyone? :)

You can even choose the parts with which to populate the PCB: "vintage" 
opamps with slew limiting, or the cleanest Burr Brown or AD audio types.

And the pots for mixing aren't part of the PCB - so anyone can wire up a 
huge panel with pots and/or switches, or just go for a smaller solution.
