Somebody liked this but wanted a 5V output - check out:

This came in the latest Farnell offers catalogue and looks like the ideal
SDIY bench PSU. Two lots of 0-30V @ 2A plus 5V at 1A (or might be 3A - not
quite clear) for UKP106+VAT. Can't knock the value...
