[sdiy] Ideas for synthesizing an electric violin?

Hi Mike,

Steina Vasulka worked with her violin and analog audio and video
synthesis for years before moving on to MIDI/computer systems.

Check out "Violin Power (1969-1978)" for lots of ideas. What I like the
best is that the same signal-processing techniques were applied to the
audio and the video:

or here:

Unfortunately, the whole 10 minute video is only available from the
Montevideo institute in the Netherlands to screen at
festivals/universities/etc. These short clips show a bit more what was
done only with image processing. Later there is quite a bit of
ring-modulation, "decimation"-sounding effects and resonant feedback
filters. Again, image and sound both! Extremely noisy! I screened this
video for quite a few art-school classes a while back, and people really
loved it...

best!
