[sdiy] Square holes

You can buy square and rectangular hole punches but there are
only certain sizes and can be quite expensive. You could have one
custom made but it would only be cost effective if you were doing
many holes. Otherwise it's the drill and file method or standard  
switches.
For a one-off how about getting a panel drawing done and getting a
machine shop with a CNC machine to cut it for you ?.
