[sdiy] Ideas for synthesizing an electric violin?

Wow I haven't even started drinking and somehow confused viola with
cello - and this is after repairing a string synth!!!
That does sound like fun. I don't have an envelope follower right now
so I tried a envelope filter preset in my TC Electronics FX box and
man was that crazy and cool sounding on Violin. Gonna have to slap
together an EF circuit now and stick into a stomp box with one of my
synthacon VCFs. Seriously neat sound.
I think it is awesome that your friend can build those instruments.
That must take some mad patience!
