[sdiy] Ideas for synthesizing an electric violin?

Well, not violin, but how about electric cello? :) My friend has built
two body-less cellos. We hooked one up to my modular using piezo
pickups through a homebrew single tranny preamp. I unfortunately do not
have any sound examples, but yes it was interesting. I'll record some
next time, if I can stay sober enough to work the software (knobs and
switches are always easy :).
