[sdiy] Counterfeit chips

So I assume that he's the guy selling them in large quantity for about
$10 each? Interesting. Of course, even though they may work fine it
doesn't mean that they're not "counterfeit." Does anyone know if he
claims that they're NOS or that they are newly manufactured?

I'm tempted to order some now just so I can compare them with some
genuine NOS parts.

This, of course, brings up other questions as well. What exactly
should we "be careful of" with other counterfeit chips? Are there
reports that these 3374s are unstable, or failing early? Copyright
issues aside, I can see real problems with low quality power parts but
it seems to me that counterfeit synth parts might have desirable
qualities of their own.
