[sdiy] Weird tubular, grey (sometimes blue) resistors

No I meant "hole in the center" as in it's a tube with the wires connected
at right angles so they look like the Greek letter "pi". Usually they are
white with color codes daubed in lines across the top. I think they are just
ceramic caps.

The resistors I have like this; some of them are pretty big and then still
only rated at 1/4 watta, others of the same size are 1 watt. Some are tiny,
without a marked power rating or even tolerance: just the resistance spelled
out with a big "omega" at the end and everything. (Speaking of Ohm, once I
was pondering the unit for transconductance or is it permittance? anyway I
thought, "How fortuitous that a scientist came along whose name is Ohm
spelled BACKWARDS!" And then it dawned on me... duh!
