Film capacitors could be either metallized, or film and foil types.

Polystyrene are always film and foil, as the film will not take
a high enough temperature to allow it ot be metallized.

Other caps come in both varieties. Film and foil will have very high
current capability, not needed for this design. Metallized should be
fine, although the simplest types (Mylar aka polyester) has the worst
performance from a dielectric standpoint. That said I use mylsr for all
film caps where I don't need a super-good cap (like VCO timing caps or
Sample/Hold caps).
