By the time the movie was done (1974-75), my guess is that Townsend
was primarily using ARP stuff. Probably lots of 2500 and 2600 on that
album (and yes, lotsa neat synth sounds on the movie soundtrack). If
you don't have the budget for a 2600 (around $3k), you might look for
an Odyssey (still a little expensive, but can be had for less than $1k
on eBay). If you have to ask how much a 2500 costs, you can't afford
one. ;-)
