Might have also been a Waldorf Gekko. I've never used the Waldorf  
Arpeggiator, but my Chord Gekko still serves me well today. (Simple  
yellow box with MIDI in and Out and a single button you press and  
hold while you play in a chord which adds Roland-esque chord function  
to any controller.) In Short, ugly but effective.
