[sdiy] why use TDA1022's or any other no longer made BBD for new projects?

Grundig/Ferguson and others used the TDA1022 in their 'stereo' TVs in 
the early 1980s. Its used as a chorus effect on the mono audio signal to 
make it swooshy and spacious.

This is why a lot of the old TV and Radio spares places have them in the 
UK. They're probably wondering why the sudden interest in a part not 
used any more. :-)
