I suspect that the fact that the least significant half dozen bits of the
24bit converter is lost in noise does not really matter, I expect there
would be an advantage to have the stepping taken out.

Ad has the Aduc series of MCU's some have 24bit sigma-
delta AD but can these 24 bits in practice be realized?
