I forgot to specify that
this recorder is for recording birds activity
in a Quebec's specific forest region as a forest dept. university survey.

If you're trying to answer the old "if a tree falls in a forest, and no-one
is there" question, I'm afraid the presence of an audio recording data
logger counts as someone being there, though the noise isn't actually made
until someone listens to the recording.
