Hi James and the Lists!
CA3280 is Dual OTA (Operational Transconductance Amp.).
OTA is current controlled gain block.
So, we can make VCA, VCF, and RING MODULATOR with OTAs.
Original (or basic) type of OTA is CA3080.
It is very useful but has some weak-points, NOISE and DISTORTION.
CA3280 is improved these problems with its unique DIODE ATTENUATOR at
input terminal.
CA3080 and 3280 are already discontinued. *sigh*

Now we can use LM13600, LM13700 and NE5517 instead of CA3280.
