[sdiy] serge free radicals

hey guys, i'm about complete with the serge rebuild and am wiring power
for all the panels during which i'm testing each module. Anyway my WAD
is acting up (not a new problem, but i'd like to resolve it).
this WAD is putting out HF (~15khz) on the a or b delay channel. when i
switch the SAD1024's around both A&B outputs go silent. i have
an extra sad1024, but substing it in as either a or b delay doesn't make
a difference. I know there was an evening long ago when i was struggling
with consciousness and reversed the +/-12 hookups or maybe it was -12 and
ground, not sure (it was a really fuzzy moment). Fear had a new smell.
I can't see any visible thermal artifacts. Anyway, any ideas what i might
have toasted? While on the topic. Anyone know any stupid bbd tricks or
clock driver substitutions that result in "interesting effects?
I have tape for analog delays and max/msp for digital. This bbd
implementation is cool, but so short as to have a limited use during
performances. Anyway, bends, hacks and suggestions for mods would
be most welcome. In the absence of any cool hacks i'd like to extend the
range.
Btw, i know there was a discussion about cutting serge panels with hack
saws and what not to modularize them... We'll I'm happy to report I'm
probably one of those rare people who've dremel'd a serge vca(x3)+rm board
apart into seperate modules. It was really nasty, had to wear a gas mask.
I keep threatening pictures.. So, that threat is re-iterated here.
easier,
