MuMetal is a sheild against magnetic fields, it doesn't need to be earthed but it wouldn't hurt.
If magnetic fields ARE the source of your interference then this COULD be the answer ...
Cheap supplier wanted ?
Find an old-old oscilloscope - the CRT was usually enclosed in a layer of mumetal to prevent stay magnetic fields deflecting the electron beam, look through the vent slots before paying £3 for it, if you can see the glass body of the CRT it is no good, if you see metal in the shape of the tube (a cone) then grab it.
- at least it would let you experiment for just a couple of quid/bucks/euros/whatever ?
