[sdiy] Potentiometer testing circuit?

I have a number of pots here that are pulls from various things along the way, for various reasons (ie not neciserily due to fault)

I should go through them, and throw out the bad ones.

I was wondering...

What would you say was the best way to test a pot?  Bare in mind that I have different values, laws etc.  Any circuit would need to
be easily switchable  to test from less than 1k, up to 2m or something along those lines.

I can obviously think up some sort of simple test, but any suggestions, examples, etc. on what may be more concise?
