Yep, Crazy Idea :-)

The pots will almost certainly be PC board mount pots...chances are, 
they will have to be replaced just on that basis.  Depends on a lot.

As soon as I know if I am really going to gut this thing or not, I am 
going to try and determine if there is anything inside that could be 
easily reverse engineered.  It is USB powered, which is not very 
convenient, but who knows, maybe the board has an ARM7 on board with a 
JTAG port (not likely).

I could also implement the MS20 in an FPGA... ;^)....who knows what I 
will do.
