[sdiy] Possible Ribbon Controller Material?

It is cheap enough to try out but I doubt it will work. I'm sure the  
resistance over distance along the ribbon would not change much since  
it is designed to discharge static from the wearer to ground (while  
handeling computer equipment etc.) I have made ribbon controllers in  
the past using recording tape stretched over pcb material. Many audio  
and video tapes have great resistance over distance specs and of  
course are very cheap. Some act very much like linear pots.
