[sdiy] Possible Ribbon Controller Material?

Hi list,

Out of nowhere, I received this circular from a company called
'cyberguys.com'.  It's mostly just computer stuff, but one thing caught my
eye:

They have, on sale for $1.49 each, a disposable cloth wrist strap.  It's
four feet long, made of cloth, and one end has a copper strip with adhesive,
which would be used for sticking to the chassis of whatever one is working
on.  The other end is just wrapped around the wrist.  It looks like a cloth
strip with some black conductive material running down the center of it.
I've never seen this before - has anyone tried it out to see if it has the
right properties for a ribbon controller?
