You and me too...A guy wanted to buy my P5 and gave a good offer for a
ruggesized 3.1... and I had just replaced a couple J-wires and thought
it was all perfect..but...when I played it..it acted like arbitrary
notes were coming out! I thought "Surely I got solder somewhere it
shouldn't go under there when I reached to do the Jwires by brail.."

Guess what? A 3340 blew out RIGHT as I went to retest it and it just
happened that the detuned oscillator emulated precisely what I might
hear if a trace were shorted and giving a pattern of notes bass notes
from the middle of hte keyboard! heheh! I mean..I went "DUH well
that'll be easy"... so now I know how to do a tune job on a P5. I'd
never had to do that on the ones I've worked on. THe new chip was quite
different. But it's gorgeous again now. zoiks. Do we see a pattern
here? Hmm? Simultaneous, orchestrated to deceive phenomena. SOTDP I'll
call it. This plagues me just..way too often.. -Bob
